Reorganization 2008

CITY GOP CANVASS
Alexandria Republicans held a city "canvass" election on Feb. 23 to elect the City GOP chair for 2008-10. All Republican voters in the city were eligible to participate.

Two candidates ran for City Chair. The results of the canvass were:

  • Chris Marston - 159
  • Chris Kachouroff - 100
ARCC thanks everyone who voted in this election, and we welcome your participation with the Republican Party in Alexandria.

Filing report:
The filing deadline for all positions was Thu., Feb. 14. All filings were reviewed by the ARCC Credentials Committee. Two candidates filed for City GOP chair (see above). Other positions were not contested, and those who filed were automatically elected: 59 as members of the Republican City Committee; 128 as delegates to the 8th District Republican Convention; and 113 as delegates to the Republican State Convention

In February 2008, Alexandria Republicans elected party officers for the next two years, and also signed up to participate in the 8th District GOP convention and Republican State Convention. In May, the party will select district party officers, state party officers, delegates to the national convention, and our nominee for the U.S. Senate.

There are many positions available, and ARCC encourages all interested party members to participate.

Any registered voter in Alexandria, who is in accord with the principles of the Republican Party, was eligible to file for any or all of the following positions:
