The Alexandria GOP works to:
- promote the principles of the party
- nominate, support and elect Republican candidates to office
- inform and assist elected Republican officials
The Alexandria Republican City Committee ("ARCC") is the official local organization of the Republican Party of Virginia for the City of Alexandria and the leadership of the Alexandria GOP. Voting members of the committee are the decision-making body for the Alexandria GOP. ARCC Members are elected to the committee by Republican voters in the spring of even-numbered years for 2-year terms (the current term runs from 2010 – 2012). The committee itself can also elect additional members at our monthly meetings to fill vacancies or openings (the committee’s authorized size is 99 members — 69 elected by precinct, 30 elected at large). Dues for active members are $65 for the two-year cycle.
In addition, anyone can become a member of the Alexandria GOP and an Associate Member of the ARCC for the same two-year cycle. Associate members are non-voting members of the ARCC. They are welcome and encouraged to come to any and all events, activities, meetings, volunteer opportunities, fundraisers, festivals, etc. Membership dues for an Alexandria GOP member and associate member of the ARCC are $35 for the two-year cycle.
New members are welcome!
If you’d like to join, complete the online membership form for an ARCC Member or an Alexandria GOP member and we’ll introduce you at our next meeting.
We invite you to get to know us. Talk with some of our leaders, read our our by-laws, and attend our next Alexandria GOP meeting (check our calendar for a complete list of events).
