Help out at Farmers Markets!
Time is flying by – Election Day 2013 will be here before we know it. So it’s time to increase the visibility of Alexandria Republicans in the community. Volunteers are needed to help out at the four weekend farmers markets and also at the many community events in Alexandria. Some notes about the different farmers markets are included below. More about some of the festivals and community events as plans are firmed up.
If you haven’t helped out at one of the markets or events before, let us know so we can match you up with one of our “old hands.”
Old Town Farmers Market: We have a “regular” volunteer at this large market on Saturday mornings(7 AM to Noon, but busiest from 7 to 9:30) in the plaza in front of City Hall. Volunteers are needed for Saturdays when the “regulars” can’t be available.
Del Ray Farmers Market: This Saturday morning (8 AM to Noon – also busiest early) market is very popular with both market customers and with Alex GOP volunteers. Two volunteers at the table every week would be optimal.
West End Farmers Market: This Sunday morning (8:30 AM to 1 PM) market is located in Cameron Station.
Four Mile Run Farmers and Artisans Market: This is a Sunday morning ( 8 AM to 1 PM) market located at the newly renovated 4MR community center, stage and park. The 4MR market is in the heart of Arlandria, and many customers are Spanish speakers. A few hours at this market is a great way to use your bilingual skills!
