Qualifications to vote

Anyone who meets these qualifications is eligible to vote in elections held in Alexandria:

• U.S. citizen;
• 18 years or older;
• legal resident of the City of Alexandria;
• not claiming voting rights elsewhere; and
• not convicted of a felony.

In order to participate, an eligible person must also be registered to vote prior to the election.
